KRSU student Valeria Salimzyanova spoke at the RHRS Congress
Three days in one breath! – This is how the first big congress was held for 6th year student of the Faculty of Medicine KRSU, laureate of the scholarship of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Valeria Salimzyanova on the banks of the Neva in St. Petersburg.
Our heroine shared her impressions of the productive trip:
– It was unforgettable and soulful: warm emotions, acquired knowledge, unique views and delight in contemplating them, generous treats and pleasant gifts! The science of hair (trichology), in all its beauty and rigor in presenting knowledge, has kept me in mind throughout these days. The most interesting reports from the best trichologist speakers from all over the world, an attentive and friendly attitude towards each participant – this is all the RHRS (Russian Hair Research Society) Congress, which was held from July 1 to July 3 offline.
This event was attended by 234 representatives from 10 countries (Russia, Moldova, Belarus, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Poland, Kazakhstan). We were presented with a rich scientific program, interesting dialogues about trichology from the authors of international guidelines on hair diseases, such as Dr. Antonella Tosti (USA), Professor of the Department of Dermatology at the Medical University of Warsaw Lydia Rudnicka (Poland), Professor Bianca Maria Piracinni (Italy) and many others. Origin issues, modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of androgenetic, nested and cicatricial alopecia were highlighted.
A separate section was devoted to the problem of hair loss and scalp diseases in patients with coronavirus infection. Here I presented a work carried out under the guidance of Alidzhon Baltabaev, Associate Professor of the Department of Dermatovenereology and Phthisiology at KRSU, on the topic: «Post-Covid alopecia. Case-by-case review». We were eager to make our scientific findings known and share our clinical experience in treating patients with hair loss after coronavirus infection. We were also able to demonstrate our own clinical case using the diagnostic method – trichoscopy.
The Congress was a very significant event for me. I received a huge amount of new and valuable information, immersed myself in conversations about trichology, where science and practice were intertwined into a single whole. The organization of the event was at the highest level, thanks to the efforts and love for her work of the President of the Russian Hair Research Society – Tatyana Silyuk and her large team.
However, it was not only Congress that greeted us with warmth and care. The weather in St. Petersburg was sunny throughout the days, with incredibly bright scarlet sunsets and white nights. Stereotypes about the gloom and dullness of the city were debunked. This is an open-air museum city, where every street, every building carries a piece of history, and there is some kind of charm and attractive force in it. You don’t get tired of it, you want to capture in your memory the magnificent architectural ensembles of St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the exquisite decoration of the Yusupov Palace, beautiful stone embankments, drawbridges and parks, giving St. Petersburg a unique look and an unforgettable atmosphere.
For me, this trip became a lucky ticket and a stepping stone to new heights of science and discoveries in the field of medicine that interests me.
