Philology students KRSU took part in the «Slavic readings»

At the Department of Russian Language on the eve of the holiday – Day of Slavic Literature and Culture – under the guidance of senior teacher O.A. Grigorieva held traditional «Slavic readings».

1st year philology students read excerpts from the Gospels in Old Church Slavonic. The event took place in the form of a challenge on various social networks together with students from universities in Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

The challenge started on May 17, and every day students posted a video on social networks reading the new text. The event, dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture, became a kind of consolidation of the material covered in classes in «Old Slavic language», during which first-year philologists became acquainted with two Slavic alphabets, learned to read and write in Cyrillic, learned alphabetic numbers and became acquainted with vocabulary from ancient written texts of the Slavic language.
