KRSU students got acquainted with the activities of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic and the basics of electoral law

A meeting was held at the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic with students of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The event was organized by the Center for Civic Education and Electoral Technologies of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic with the aim of improving the legal and electoral culture of students, deepening knowledge about the electoral system and familiarizing themselves with the key areas of activity of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic.Director of the Center for Civic Education and Electoral Technologies of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic (TsGOIT) Anara Beishembaeva made a welcoming speech to the guests. She greeted the event participants, emphasizing the importance of developing an active civic position and deep knowledge in the field of electoral law among the younger generation.It is important to note the key role of the Center for Civic Education and Electoral Technologies of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic, which systematically works to educate young citizens legally, improve the electoral literacy of the population and introduce modern educational technologies into the electoral process. It is thanks to the activities of the Center that such meetings with student youth acquire a regular and meaningful character.During the visit, future lawyers visited the building of the Central Election Commission, where they were given a tour. Employees of the apparatus of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic told the guests in detail about the structure and functions of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as about modern approaches to organizing and conducting elections in the Kyrgyz Republic.Particular attention during the meeting was paid to explaining the main provisions of the national doctrine «Unguzhol» and concept «Kyrgyz zharana». Speaker, TsGOIT expert Cholpon Bapieva, emphasized their role in the formation of civic identity, unity of the people and the development of state institutions, as well as the importance of active citizenship for the younger generation.An important stage of the event was the conduct of a test vote, in which KRSU students took part. The organizers emphasized the special significance of such a practice: modeling the real electoral process allows young people not only to familiarize themselves with the voting procedure in practice, but also to understand their role in the formation of government bodies.This event is designed to help increase youth turnout in elections, which is of particular relevance given the fact that youth make up a significant part of the electorate of the Kyrgyz Republic. The involvement of young citizens in the electoral process from an early age forms a strong tradition of responsible participation in elections.During the meeting, special attention was paid to issues of remote voting. Students were told about the possibilities of modern technologies that make participation in elections more accessible and convenient. A striking example of the effectiveness of this tool was the elections held in 2025, where 190,000 voters took advantage of the opportunity to vote remotely. This experience clearly demonstrates the demand for digital solutions among citizens and opens up new prospects for attracting participation in elections, including young people who actively use modern technologies.The culmination of the event was an intellectual competition on knowledge of the electoral legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation. The students demonstrated a high level of training and a deep understanding of the legal norms and electoral procedures of the two countries. Participants successfully dealt with issues related to the electoral rights of citizens, the work of election commissions and modern electoral technologies.One of the event participants, KRSU student, 2nd year student at the KRSU Faculty of Law Ocalan Yusubov, shared his impressions: «This meeting turned out to be very useful for me. I have received a significant amount of information about citizenship and citizenship. I was especially interested in the section of the presentation dedicated to youth. As it turned out, today 42% of the total number of voters are young people. This means that young people must be an active, responsible and conscious part of society, contributing to the bright future of the state. In addition, as part of a specially organized competition, we were not only able to test our knowledge, but also became acquainted with modern technologies, such as remote voting. I especially remember the test voting. I am confident that such meetings will help us better understand our rights and responsibilities. Now I understand how important it is to be an active and informed voter».Another participant in the event, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Law Victoria Bisarchuk, shared her impressions:«The event was organized at a high level, with a test vote that was especially memorable. It gave me the opportunity to feel like a real participant in the electoral process. I had not previously taken part in elections, but after today's event I realized how important my vote is for the future of my country. In addition, during the event I received a lot of information about the peculiarities of the electoral process in Kyrgyzstan and the role of youth. I didn't know before that 42% of all voters were young people. This once again confirms that the future is in the hands of young people, and I encourage young people to be active».As a result of the competition, the most distinguished students received memorable gifts from the Center for Civic Education and Electoral Technologies of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic.The organizers of the event noted the importance of such meetings for the professional guidance of young people, the formation of a respectful attitude towards the law and increasing confidence in the electoral system as a whole.Cooperation between the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic and KRSU in the field of legal education of youth will continue.
