KRSU students took part in a webinar from UNDP

On February 24, students of the ME-1-17 group, led by Professor Taalaibek Koichumanov, took part in a webinar organized by UNDP for the business community of Kyrgyzstan.

The purpose of the event – is to consider the problems of countries fulfilling the terms of the Paris Agreement to combat climate change.

In the fall of 2019, Kyrgyzstan signed the Paris Agreement and thereby joined the global community fighting global climate change, which poses a threat to the further development of all humanity.

Webinar participants discussed greenhouse gas emissions reductions for small countries, access to climate finance, technology transfer, as well as renewable energy and «green» economic issues.

An important point of the webinar was the identification of ONUV – nationally determined contributions of countries to solve the listed problems.

Student participation in the UNDP webinar is a good demonstration of the work of UN bodies in the field of practical solutions to sustainable development problems.
