KRSU students successfully created multimedia projects within the framework of the «Winter School» of Moscow State University
The project «Build Friendship» about iconic buildings in the history of the CIS, carried out by a team consisting of Valery Zhernakov (KRSU, Kyrgyzstan), Alexander Stepanenko (Belarus) and Samandar Khakimzhonov (Uzbekistan), was recognized as the best work within the framework of the «Winter School» in journalism of Moscow State University.
On January 27, the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University summed up the results of the «Winter School». The event, organized by the Foreign Department of the Faculty, is being held at the Faculty of Journalism for the second time. This year, 30 students from universities in Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Transnistria, the Republic of Belarus, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan took part in the project.
The event took place online. During the first week, participants listened to lectures by faculty teachers: students got acquainted with the features of the Russian media system and gained an idea of the specifics of Russian journalism. In the second week, students worked to create and promote multimedia projects in tutor-led groups.
The «Winter School» program also included virtual visits to media companies and online meetings with industry experts. A virtual tour of the news agency «TASS» was conducted for students, an online excursion to the VK company was organized, as well as a meeting with representatives of the international media group «Russia Today». Project participants were offered an online tour of the historical building of the faculty and the campus of Moscow University on Vorobyovy Gory. This year, the school program also included a meeting with representatives of faculty media.
In addition to Valery Zhernakov, KRSU was represented at the «Winter School» by students Yana Krainyukova and Alina Devkina.
− Winter School of Journalism of Moscow State University − a cool system for consolidating theoretical data with interesting practice. There were lectures about different professional areas. The most memorable for me: «The specifics of creating a lifestyle project in the media»; «Television in Russia: structure, programming, challenges»; «Photojournalism in Russia». I would like to especially thank you for the opportunity to attend online excursions around MIA «Russia Today», as well as «TASS». I would really like to become a participant in such a school again, but only offline. After participating in winter school, I had more confidence in my professional skills, which can be put into practice and know that you will undoubtedly achieve the desired result − yana Krainyukova shared her impressions.

After listening to interesting lectures, I noted a list of books and textbooks for further study of topics in the field of journalism and PR. Thanks to this opportunity, I met wonderful students from Belarus, with whom we worked on a common project. All students who successfully completed the program received a certificate from Moscow State University. Authors the best project will be able to take the included training in the Faculty of Journalism in the autumn semester of the 2023/2024 academic year.
«Winter School» − this is an international educational project for 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students studying in the areas of «Journalism» and «Media Communications» at foreign universities, focused on getting acquainted with the Russian media system and mastering practical skills in Russian-language online and print media, as well as on television and radio.
