KRSU medical students end the year with successful performances at the international level
December of this year turned out to be very generous with the participation of students of our faculty in Olympiads, schools, and international competitions.
Before we had time to note the success of the team that went to Novosibirsk, we were then pleased with the students participating in the pediatric surgery club, who brought 24 diplomas of various denominations from the VII winter school «Zverev Readings» (Ekaterinburg)!
And now I would like to talk about the participation of our future doctors in the III International Olympiad for students of medical universities «Samarkand-2020». Don't be surprised by the year indicated. It’s just that it was then that the first such Olympiad took place and since then this figure has been fixed in the name.
This intellectual competition itself is held in three languages (Uzbek, Russian and English) in 13 theoretical and more than 20 clinical disciplines – in a hybrid format (online and offline).
Each participant chose only one academic discipline. In total, no more than 10 students in 10 different subjects could participate from the university.
In the case of online participation, the following is provided:
- greeting the team (video – presentation of your university);
- call for scientific projects (reports presenting the results of their own research);
- competition in subject disciplines.
The latter consists of two stages: 1st – testing on 30 questions in 30 minutes; 2nd – oral survey consisting of (a) a question on a selected discipline; (b) solving a situational problem; (c) assessing practical skills. The maximum number of points for each stage is 100.
When participating offline, the conditions of the competition are the same, only without a greeting (video), which is considered in advance.
The answers are evaluated by an international jury. Representatives of our university have already participated, and not without success, in the 1st Samarkad Olympiad. But the current one turned out to be much more complex and representative, covering 2,700 people online and 400– offline. Among them are – young people from Uzbekistan itself, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Turkey, France, Malaysia and other countries.
Our university fielded 9 participants (4 online and 5 offline) in disciplines such as pediatrics, infectious diseases, pediatric surgery, anatomy, normal and pathological physiology.
The largest part of the participants represented the Department of Pediatrics (Head – Professor S. Bokonbaeva).
Of these, the title in the nomination «Absolute Champion» went to Ablikimdzhan Abdulbakiev (gr.) for his scientific report. PD-6-17), III degree diploma – Nikita Reznikov (gr. PD-9-17).
From the Department of Pediatric Surgery (Head – Ph.D. K. Mykyev) third place was earned by Alina Akylbekova (gr. PD-1-17) in a competition where 11 universities of the Russian Federation, Kyrgyz Republic and Russian Academy of Sciences participated.
The nominee from the Department of Infectious Diseases, Zhakshylyk Shapykov, also took 3rd place out of 22 participants.
Artur Medelbekov (gr. PD-6-17) from the Department of Hospital Surgery was ranked in the best category «Solemnity of the Mind».
Dmitry Bush (gr. PD-9-17), representing the Department of Normal Physiology, was also recognized in the «Triumph of the Mind» category.
Foreign students also made no mistakes. Thus, a 5th year student studying in English, Vanga Kodanda Rama Satya Venkat (gr. LDi-2-18) prepared for the human anatomy competition and showed a high result, receiving a certificate of honor!
Self-prepared for the Olympiad, also earning certificates of honor, student Gutti Sai Rupesh Kumar (gr. LDi-1-18) – in normal physiology and student Pulla Esther Rani (gr. LDi-8-18) – on pathophysiology.
Thus, a total of 1 diploma «Absolute Champion», 3 diplomas of the 3rd degree, 2 – in the nomination «Triumph of Reason» and 3 certificates of honor were received.
