Warm meeting with the delegation from St. Petersburg: KRSU strengthens strategic ties
An official meeting of the university management with a representative delegation from St. Petersburg took place at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The visit took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere and was an important step in the development of strategic partnerships.
The meeting was attended by the acting rector of KRSU Sergey Yuryevich Volkov, as well as representatives of the Russian side:
• Evgeny Vladimirovich Kassyura – Deputy Chairman of the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg,
• Elena Nikolaevna Demina – President of the Association for the Promotion of International Labor Migration,
• Akim Alekseevich Chernikov – General Director of the Migration Center «Yuzhny» in St. Petersburg.
Opening the meeting, Sergei Yuryevich Volkov noted the importance of strengthening cooperation with Russian partners:
«KRSU — this is a part of Russia on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. We are building a university of the future, open to international interaction, and we especially appreciate the support of St. Petersburg in this process».
The parties discussed key areas of interaction: development of joint educational and scientific projects, exchange of experience between teachers and advanced training of specialists, as well as attracting students and graduates of KRSU to professional integration programs in Russia.
Evgeny Vladimirovich Kassyura emphasized the readiness of the sister city to provide full support:
«We see KRSU as a strategic partner, and are ready to support the university in all areas – from personnel training to cultural and scientific initiatives. The issue of allocating five buses to support university events» is already being considered.
An important item on the agenda was a conversation about the development of university infrastructure, in particular – about the construction of a new campus. This is one of the key projects of the KRSU development strategy, aimed at improving the quality of education, creating a comfortable environment for students and strengthening the international authority of the university.
The parties agreed to continue the dialogue, regular exchanges and implement specific initiatives that will contribute to the rapprochement of the educational spaces of Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
