A monument to teachers from Russia and Kyrgyzstan will appear at the main building of KRSU

On October 6, the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction hosted a presentation of the «Monument to Teachers», the installation of which will be completed at the end of October 2023. The sculptural composition will appear in front of the main building of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. B. Yeltsin.

According to the creators, sculptor V. Shestopal, architects R. Muksinov, M. Beishenbaev, M. Beishembaev, a monument dedicated to for teachers in Russia and Kyrgyzstan, it symbolizes the historical memory of those who laid the foundations of education in Kyrgyzstan.

Victor Shestopal, People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor Emeritus KRSU:

–Sketches of the monument were developed about 10 years ago, and finally, in 2023, the idea was actually implemented. The history of the origin of secular education in Kyrgyzstan differs from European countries, so I abandoned the use of constructs «teacher and student», «teacher with subjects related to the educational process», which can often be found in existing monuments. We decided to convey the blessing of the Russian teacher through sculptural language – she hands a lamp into the hand of a Kyrgyz young teacher, while, as it were, protecting the light of knowledge. The figures are cast in bronze, and the pedestal has an inscription in two languages «dedicated to Teachers».
