Today in Bishkek the opening of a historical and documentary exhibition «The Space Phenomenon of Kyrgyzstan» took place, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the first manned space flight.The exhibition took place at the intersection of Erkindik Boulevard and Chuikova Street.Nikolai Kudryavtsev delivered a welcoming speech at the opening. He noted the importance of preserving historical memory of achievements in the field of astronautics, emphasized the contribution of Kyrgyzstan to the development of space science, as well as the importance of popularizing science among young people.The exhibition introduces visitors to Kyrgyzstan's contribution to space exploration. Guests can find out what words Yuri Gagarin said about the Kyrgyz land, which cosmonauts received «a ticket to the sky» in the city of Frunze, and also how domestic scientists participated in the creation of equipment for the exploration of the Moon, Venus and Mars.A special place in the exhibition is occupied by the stories of cosmonauts associated with Kyrgyzstan — Salizhan Sharipov and Sergei Korsakov.The exhibition is presented in Kyrgyz and Russian. The author of the exhibition is the director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU Leonid Sumarokov.The exhibition will be open until May.We invite everyone to visit the exhibition and learn more about the space history of Kyrgyzstan.
