The memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War was honored in Bishkek
On June 20, a requiem meeting was held in the park named after Dair Asanov at the monument of military glory, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow — the anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War. The event brought together veterans, students, teachers, employees of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, representatives of public organizations and city structures.
With a minute of silence, the participants honored the memory of the fallen, and the laying of flowers to the sounds of the military band of the National Guard of the Kyrgyz Republic became a symbol of gratitude for the feat of the defenders and the peaceful sky above their heads.
Speeches were made by representatives of the veterans' movement, the leadership of KRSU, city and patriotic organizations. A special atmosphere was created by the performances of youth theater actors «GALA» — poems and songs of the war years were performed, as well as literary and musical compositions filled with pain, courage and memory.
Vice-Rector for Youth and Information Policy of KRSU Stanislav Kulikov noted in his speech:
«Today, remembering the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, we are not just paying tribute — we are forming a responsible attitude towards history among new generations. Preserving memory —this is not a formality, but our common duty to those who gave their lives for peace and freedom».
He emphasized that the participation of students in such actions plays an important role in the patriotic education and civic development of youth.
The requiem meeting became a living reminder of the tragic pages of history, the need to comprehend them and preserve historical truth.
