KRSU discussed readiness for accreditation of educational programs
A dean's meeting was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University under the leadership of Vice-Rector for Economic and Legal Affairs Irina Ageeva. The main topic was a discussion of readiness for the upcoming accreditation of educational programs.
Accreditation — is a procedure for independent assessment of the quality of education, during which the compliance of educational programs with state standards is checked.
From March 17 to 19, an expert commission of the independent accreditation organization Bilim Standard will work at KRSU. About 30 specialists will conduct a comprehensive audit of more than 30 educational programs. The procedure includes several key steps:
1. Analysis of documentation. Experts will study curricula, discipline programs, self-assessment reports and other regulatory documents confirming the compliance of the educational process with state standards.
2. Assessment of the material and technical base. They will check classrooms, laboratories, libraries, computer classes and other resources necessary for the educational process.
3. Meetings with participants in the educational process. Experts will conduct interviews with university management, teachers, students and graduates. It is important to assess how effectively the training is organized, whether students are satisfied with the educational process and what prospects graduates have.
4. Attending classes. Teaching methodology, student involvement and compliance of the content of classes with the declared educational standards are assessed.
5. Final report.
Upon completion of the work, experts will draw up a conclusion in which they will indicate the compliance of the programs with the requirements, as well as possible recommendations for improving the quality of education.
To successfully pass accreditation, the university has carried out large-scale work to bring programs into compliance with regulatory requirements. Currently, KRSU has already sent a self-assessment report to the accreditation body.
All faculties are subject to accreditation, with the exception of the medical faculty, which has successfully completed this procedure before. The results of the audit will determine how well KRSU programs meet established standards and what recommendations can be given to further improve the educational process.
