KRSU discussed the strategic objectives of the new academic year
Today, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University hosted the first dean's meeting of the new academic year, chaired by Rector Sergei Volkov. The meeting was devoted to key issues of organizing the educational process, infrastructure development and personnel policy.
Vice-Rector for Legal and Economic Affairs Irina Ageeva outlined the priority task — to conclude study agreements with all first-year and senior students as soon as possible - the deadline is set during the first week of September. She also recalled the need to draw up employment contracts with teachers who successfully passed the competition in July.
Particular attention was paid to the development of student nutrition infrastructure. The agenda includes updating furniture and equipment in the dining areas, improving service and expanding the menu to include national dishes. The management emphasized that the creation of comfortable conditions should ensure a steady flow of students and stable operation of university canteens.
Other topics include — completion of summer renovation work, primarily at the Faculty of Medicine. The need for increased control by faculties and closer interaction with contractors was noted. The issue of distributing new computers, laptops and educational equipment was also considered, which will make it possible to provide faculties with the necessary resources in a timely manner.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elena Devyatova focused on the prevention of academic debts and the prevention of student expulsions. She emphasized the importance of the systematic work of deans and teachers to support students, as well as timely informing students about the consequences of failure to pass disciplines.
One of the issues at the meeting was the procedure for transferring students from contract education to budget places. The mechanism for student recovery was also considered.
Applications for transfer or reinstatement must be submitted to the Office for Work with Learners. After registration and verification of documents, they are transferred to the relevant faculty, where they are considered by the certification commission.
This procedure ensures transparency of the process and allows for the most objective approach to each student’s request.
Strategic issues were also discussed at the meeting: the relocation of the Faculty of International Relations and the KRSU College to a new address (Molodaya Gvardiya st., 55), as well as preparations for the II Russian-Kyrgyz Educational Forum, which will be held on September 23–24 and will unite leading universities of the two countries, authorities and business representatives.
Special attention was paid to organizing the ceremonial assembly on September 1, which will take place for the first time in the park «Eurasia». Up to four thousand students, teachers, schoolchildren and their parents are expected to participate.
At the decan meeting, the rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov announced an important decision made jointly with the ANO «Eurasia».
From 2026, personalized scholarships in the amount of 15,000 soms will be established for 100 students of pedagogical specialties KRSU.
This initiative aims to support future teachers and increase the attractiveness of teaching professions. According to Sergei Volkov, the program will be a serious contribution to the development of teacher education in Kyrgyzstan and strengthening the human resources potential of the education system.
Summing up, Rector Sergei Volkov noted: «We are starting the new academic year with a clear action plan and specific tasks. It is important that KRSU remains not only a center for quality education, but also the first employer for its best graduates. I am confident that the joint work of the team will ensure high standards of learning and create all conditions for the professional self-realization of students».
