KRSU presented the new acting by Rector Sergei Volkov: a course for change and reform
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University hosted an official presentation by the acting rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov. The event took place within the framework of an expanded academic council, which brought together employees, deans and students of the university. On the Russian side, the new leader was introduced by the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky, and on the Kyrgyz side — by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Rasul Avazbek uulu.
In his speech, Sergei Volkov spoke about himself and shared his achievements, including a significant number of infrastructure projects in the field of education. He noted that the university is faced with a number of accumulated problems that need to be solved: "We came to work," Volkov emphasized, presenting his team consisting of experienced professionals.
The academic council also approved a new temporary management structure for the university. The team included: Vice-Rector for International, Scientific and Innovation Activities, Vice-Rector for Economic and Legal Affairs, Vice-Rector for Infrastructure Development, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities and Vice-Rector for Youth and Information Policy. The first vice-rector, as noted, will be appointed by the Kyrgyz side.
In the near future, a governing council will be formed in KRSU, which will include representatives of both Kyrgyzstan and Russia. This body will approve the new university charter. The new management also plans to conduct an audit of the university and organize local meetings with deans to discuss current issues.
