On February 24, the annual, sixth, scientific and practical conference «Current Problems of Philosophy and Political Science», organized by the university’s philosophy department, took place at the Faculty of Humanities of KRSU.
The dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Professor Amangeldy Bekbalaev, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He reminded participants – undergraduates, undergraduates, graduate students – that we live in a rapidly changing dynamic world, and in these conditions, the timeliness and relevance of considering the universal aspects of human existence in society increases with all clarity.
The head of the Department of Philosophy, Professor Nurgul Osmonova, emphasized the practical importance of participation in conferences of this kind, since they become a platform for live dialogue and exchange of opinions, and at the same time, collections of articles are always published based on the results of the conference, the presence of which is one of the conditions for the successful defense of VKR, master's and candidate's dissertations.
The event program was so interesting and varied that mini-discussions and scientific polemics unfolded between the participants.
As the conference progressed, entire slogans and memes were born: from «Sophists and lobbyists will always be» to references to quotes from classics and contemporaries, such as «Women were glorified by Blok, feminists – Soros».
The speakers covered a wide range of issues: from the problem of loneliness of young people in such an informational «noisy» modern world to meaningful questions about the possibilities of achieving and comprehending happiness, about whether the actively advertised modern coaching actually helps self-development in its original deep Socratic sense.
The topical reports generated lively discussions, thanks to the informal approach of the speakers to the coverage of the selected topics and the many questions from the audience.
The conference ended with the ceremonial presentation of certificates.
