An international round table was held at KRSU «Media sphere: focus of the future»
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University hosted an annual international round table «Mediasphere: Focus of the Future», organized by the Department of International Journalism of the Faculty of International Relations.The event brought together teachers, researchers, representatives of the media sphere and students from Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Central Asian countries. The round table was held in the format of a plenary session and thematic sections dedicated to current issues of media development, digital transformation and media communications.During the plenary session, key trends in the development of the media sphere were considered, including issues of blogging, information policy, media security and transformation of journalism in the context of digitalization. Particular attention is paid to the interaction between the media and the state, as well as the role of modern communication technologies.The work of the sections included expert discussions of current issues of media literacy, information security and media development, as well as student speeches devoted to the analysis of modern media, digital platforms and international practices.A separate block was the section «Scientific Debut», within which students presented the results of pre-graduate research. The topics of the reports covered a wide range of issues — from the role of social networks and fact-checking to international journalism and information policy.The round table confirmed the high scientific and educational potential of KRSU, as well as the relevance of research in the field of media communications in a rapidly changing information environment.
