An international student scientific conference «China on the path of modernity» was held at KRSU

On February 19, 2026, in the main building of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin hosted an international student scientific conference «China on the path of modernity». The organizer was the Institute of World Civilizations and Languages KRSU.The purpose of the conference is to create an academic platform for discussing the political, economic and sociocultural transformations of modern China, as well as to involve students in research activities and the international expert agenda. Particular attention was paid to developing among young researchers a comprehensive understanding of the role of China in global processes and the development of regional cooperation.Interest in the event was confirmed by its international scope, with the organizing committee receiving 66 applications, including from the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China. The conference brought together students from leading universities in Bishkek and Russian universities, and some of the speakers joined in an online format.The programme included a plenary session and the work of two sections: the— «Modern China: Economic Modernization and Policy Strategies on the Global Stage»;— «Socio-cultural development of China: language, literature and intercultural communication».The reports discussed issues of the digital economy, the «One Belt — One Road» initiative, artificial intelligence, educational policy of the PRC, intercultural interaction, transformation of language and culture in the context of globalization. This comprehensive approach allowed participants to look at China's development through the lens of various scientific disciplines.The conference became a significant event in the scientific life of KRSU, contributed to the strengthening of interuniversity ties, expansion of international academic cooperation and development of student research competencies.
