A meeting between the university management and the Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic took place at KRSU

On March 5, 2026, at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin, a working meeting of the university leadership took place with the Akyikatchy (Ombudsman) of the Kyrgyz Republic Jamilya Akmatbekovna Dzhamanbaeva.The meeting was opened by the rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov, who spoke about the current transformations at the university, the development of the educational and infrastructure base, as well as the growth in the number of students. Today, the university has almost 10 thousand students, including school and college students, and is implementing a number of projects to modernize buildings educational facilities, develop campus infrastructure and expand educational opportunities for young people.«Over the past year and a half, the number of students at the university has increased by almost 2.5 thousand people. Today our large university family already has about 10 thousand students. We are actively developing infrastructure, modernizing educational buildings and creating new opportunities for education and professional growth of young people», — noted Sergei Volkov.During the meeting, a video was shown about the modern infrastructure of the university and the key directions of its development.Akiykatchy of the Kyrgyz Republic Jamilya Dzhamanbaeva noted the importance of cooperation with the academic community in matters of human rights protection, legal education and social support for youth.«Engagement with the university community is very important to us. The scientific environment helps to form an objective understanding of the human rights situation and find solutions for the development of legal culture and legal education in society», — emphasized Jamilya Dzhamanbaeva.During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of interaction, including the development of legal education, student participation in sociological research and joint initiatives to strengthen the legal literacy of young people.Following the meeting, a ceremony was held to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University and the Institute of Akyikatcha (Ombudsman) of the Kyrgyz Republic.The document is aimed at developing joint educational and scientific projects in the field of human rights protection, conducting scientific and practical events and law-education initiatives, as well as organizing practices and guest lectures for KRSU students with the participation of experts from the human rights system.The implementation of joint projects will expand opportunities for practical training of students, improve the level of legal culture of youth and will contribute to the development of legal education in the Kyrgyz Republic.
