Today, the International School of Student Tourism «Student Tourism» — one of the largest youth projects in the field of educational tourism opened at the KRSU site. This is the first time the school is being held in Kyrgyzstan, and for KRSU this is an important event in the development of interuniversity cooperation and the expansion of international student mobility. The organizers were the North Caucasus Federal University and the program «Studentourism» with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and KRSU.

The rector of KRSU addressed the participants with a welcoming speech Sergey Volkov. Congratulating the students on the successful competitive selection, he noted the significance of the project and its role for the development of young specialists:

«Becoming a member of the International School — is a significant achievement and confirmation of your professional potential. We are honored to receive her at KRSU. All our projects and initiatives are aimed at one thing —to create conditions for your development, movement forward and knowledge exchange».

The rector expressed special words of gratitude to the North Caucasus Federal University for its initiative and support, emphasizing the importance of further partnership.

Representative of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science at the Russian Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic Alexey Poida recalled that the «Studentourism» program annually expands its geography.

«If 15 universities participated at the start, today — more than 250. The program unites universities in Russia, as well as Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, China, India, Vietnam and Belarus», he noted.

He added that KRSU is an example of a sustainable partnership between the two countries: «This is a unique university where the governments of Russia and Kyrgyzstan work together. Here new programmes are being developed and major initiatives are being implemented».

The head of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kyrgyzstan, Albert Zulkharneev, drew attention to the growing role of universities in regional development:

«Today, universities — are more than educational institutions. They become leaders in economic modernization and set the tone for youth policy», he said.

He noted that cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan in the field of tourism is developing dynamically and opens up new opportunities for young people.

NCFU Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Albert Kumukov said that the interest of Russian students in the trip was extremely high:
«We received a huge number of applications. As a result, the brightest young people from different regions of Russia came to Bishkek. Now I understand why —there is unique nature and amazing people here», — he emphasized.

Director of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Erdenet Kasymov emphasized the strategic importance of tourism for the country:

«In the first nine months of 2025, tourism contributed 4.3% to GDP. We are moving towards the goal — 10% by 2030», he noted.

He added that Kyrgyzstan has significant potential: «More than 90% of the territory is occupied by mountains, thousands of routes, and a rich history. The international school helps train specialists who will develop this industry».

Anastasia Lenets spoke on behalf of the program «Student Tourism»:

«We have already felt the hospitality of Kyrgyzstan. I am sure that within a week the participants will make new acquaintances and return home with a lot of knowledge», she said.

The week-long program includes lectures, master classes, work on projects, excursions to museums and a trip to the National Park «Ala-Archa». The result will be the defense of student projects and the presentation of certificates.
