An international conference dedicated to Science Day was held at the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic

An international conference dedicated to Science Day was held at the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. On November 11, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic hosted an international scientific and practical conference «The role of science in the integration of education and production», dedicated to Science Day.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. The conference brought together leading domestic and foreign scientists, university rectors, representatives of the industrial sector and international partners from China, the Republic of Korea, Vietnam and other countries.

The conference included an exhibition of scientific achievements, at which universities and research centers presented innovative projects in the field of biotechnology, energy, mechanical engineering, digitalization and agricultural technologies.

Welcoming addresses were made by the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic Baktyar Orozov, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanatbek Abdrakhmatov, Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic, Academician Mitalip Mamytov, as well as the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultan Raev.

Minister Baktyar Orozov emphasized that science is the main resource for the country’s development and the guarantor of its future:

«We are carrying out systemic reforms aimed at updating the scientific field — we are reducing bureaucracy, supporting young researchers and creating conditions for academic mobility. Our goal —for science, education and innovation to function as a single ecosystem», — the minister noted.

According to him, 75% of employees employed in the field of scientific research and development are researchers, of which 38% have academic degrees of doctors and candidates of science, which indicates the high intellectual potential of Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University presented an extensive program as part of the exhibition and concert part. From KRSU, the creative team of the Theater and Music Studio «PROMovement» with a dance number «Morning Dew», representatives of the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction, the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Economics, Law and the Faculty of International Relations, employees of the Research Institute and Research Center KRSU took part, presenting scientific publications and developments.

A total of 20 students and 15 staff took part in the conference from KRSU.

As a result of the conference, KRSU employees were awarded certificates of honor from the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular, a Certificate of Honor in the nomination «Sustainable Development and Green Technologies» was awarded to the Head of the Scientific and Innovation Department of KRSU Natalya Malyukova.

On the same day, the results of the Republican competition of young scientists and innovators, organized by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic, were summed up. The competition aims to support young researchers, startups and innovators under the age of 35.

3rd place in the nomination «Best startup based on scientific research» was taken by the Head of the Department for the Development of Electronic Educational Resources KRSU Victoria Bondareva with the FinHub.kg project (headed by A.A. Kocherbaeva).

Minister Baktyyar Orozov concluded by noting

«Kyrgyzstan — a country with a rich scientific heritage, experience and energy of young researchers. Our task —to combine these capabilities and make science the main engine of national development».
