To help foreign students KRSU
On November 12, in the conference hall of the main building of KRSU, a meeting of foreign students with the university management and representatives of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic took place.
KRSU staff participated – Vice-Rector for International Relations Leila Sydykova, Deputy Rector Evgeniy Garkovets, head of the International Relations Department Yulia Kalyuzhnaya, employees of the passport and visa department Aiperi Islamova and Farida Kasymova, as well as commissioners for work with foreign students and first-year students who are citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Jordan, India, China and Korea.
She addressed the audience with a welcoming speech professor Leila Sydykova. She thanked the guests for their interest in the issues stay of foreign citizens on the territory of Kyrgyzstan Republic, registration of students at their place of residence and others.
Representative of the DKS of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Dastan Zhanybaev spoke about the rules for filling out applications for an electronic visa, the requirements in the law «On External Migration» and suggested familiarizing yourself with the instructions on the procedure for issuing visas on the website www.mfa.gov.kg. The expert then answered numerous questions from the students. Here are some of them:
–What to do if your passport is replaced/lost if your visa has not yet expired?
–You must apply for a new visa by indicating the old passport number and visa number in the application letter from the inviting party. At the same time, the student does not need to leave the country.
–Is it possible to study with a family visa?
– It is possible as long as there is a basis for this visa.
–Do citizens of Kazakhstan need a visa?
– No, citizens of Kazakhstan have a visa-free regime. You only need to register at your place of residence and re-register every six months.
–Due to the long processing of applications, current visas expire. What to do in this case?
–Applications are considered longer than usual due to the large flow of requests; this situation will be corrected soon. If the visa is expired by no more than 1 month, the student must provide a certificate of good conduct in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Deputy Head of the Department of the Service for Combating Extremism and Illegal Migration Ilgiz Yryspaev spoke about the rules of stay on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, that students do not have the right to engage in any activities other than educational ones, warned them against participating in various rallies, asked them to be careful and double-check any incoming information. If questions arise regarding migration, the expert expressed his readiness to help students.
Head of the International Relations Department of KRSU Yulia Kalyuzhnaya summed up the meeting, thanked all those present and reminded that if any questions arise, students can turn to the UMS staff for help.
