Vivat, graduates of the Faculty of Medicine KRSU!
On July 3, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University hosted the next solemn Academic Council dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Day of Medical Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the 22nd graduation of general practitioners, the 13th – pediatricians and dentists, the 19th – clinical residents of the Faculty of Medicine.
A special feature of this event is that for the second time since the beginning of the pandemic, thanks to the cooperation of the dean of the medical department and the KRSU television center, it took place in virtual mode. However, this did not prevent the graduates from observing the main details of this ritual – and, above all, taking two oaths – of a doctor of the Kyrgyz Republic and a doctor of the Russian Federation.
Now I can’t even believe that 27 years ago, in the same hot summer, the first enrollment for this newborn medical department took place. There were only 32 of them, the first future general practitioners. And the entire faculty consisted of one department of medical-biological and medical-psychological disciplines, headed by the only full-time employee at that time – head of the department and dean, Professor A. Zarifyan.
Today, the medical faculty, in terms of its scale, can safely claim the status of an institute, having 37 specialized departments and laboratories, 332 full-time employees (56.5% of them –doctors and candidates of science), teaching not one, but three specialties (medical science, pediatrics, dentistry) over 2000 students, actively training residents and graduate students.
Taking into account this year’s graduation, the faculty has already given Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and a number of other countries 2,260 general practitioners, 868 pediatric doctors and 1,745 dentists. Many of its graduates managed to successfully express themselves in medical pedagogy, science and medical work, both in the Kyrgyz Republic and far beyond its borders, incl. in foreign countries.
Recently, thanks to the Development Program of Slavic Universities, funded by Russia, the medical faculty has been successfully modernizing its educational base, opening new centers and laboratories, and purchasing modern medical equipment.
This year, despite all its difficulties, has pleased us with other successes. Two employees received the academic title «professor». 23 educational and methodological and 5 major scientific works were published, a number of current scientific events were held. The successes of the circle students are especially pleasing: at virtual Olympiads, competitions, conferences in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Penza, Irkutsk, Rostov-on-Don, Tashkent, Samarkand, Bishkek, they won one 1st degree diploma and one – 2nd, and for individual reports – 8 first, 7 – second and 2 – 3rd degree.
The current graduation, which includes 221 medical clinics, 63 pediatricians and 60 dentists, is worth kind words: 47 young doctors have earned Kyrgyz and Russian diplomas with honors.
This is a great merit not only of students, but also of their teachers and mentors, a number of whom were awarded honorary badges «Excellence in Education», «Excellence in Health Care», certificates of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Health and Social Development, as well as the relevant trade unions of our country and the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Kyrgyzstan.
The university management did not remain aloof from such a pleasant mission. Five employees were awarded a medal «For services to the university», five received the title «Honorary Professor KRSU», 10 – Certificate of Honor.
In addition, 18 graduates of the specialty in medical practice, 5 pediatricians and 8 dentists were awarded a Certificate of Honor from KRSU for success in studies, research and social life of the university.
This list of awardees is far from exhausted. For active participation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, nine employees of the departments of the KRSU medical faculty, 1 senior laboratory assistant, 9 graduate students, 32 residents of 1 year of study, 23 – second received certificates of honor.
The participants of the solemn Academic Council were warmly welcomed by the Minister of Education and Science B. Nefedov, public figure, Secretary General of the Issyk-Kul Forum named after. CH. Aitmatova A. Moldokmatova, Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic I. Vorontsov and others Eminent Kyrgyz and Russian doctors addressed the graduates with kind parting words.
