Meeting with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation: changes in KRSU received support
Rector of KRSU Denis Fomin-Nilov met in Moscow with the leadership of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. During the meeting, the current situation at the university was discussed and the prospects for the development of the university were discussed in detail. Key KRSU initiatives aimed at comprehensive modernization of the university received support.
«I have made a substantive report to the leadership of the Ministry about the accumulated problems. As you know, there are many of them. This was recently confirmed by a joint audit of the Accounts Chambers of the two countries. The leadership of the Ministry agrees with our fundamental commitment to updating and rebooting the university. KRSU should become a leading university. On the most important issues of our development, we received support»," said rector Denis Fomin-Nilov following the meeting.
This means that in the near future the university will face a number of changes that will directly affect not only the conditions of study for students, but also the work of teachers.
There is a serious demand for change in the KRSU team; the university management receives daily requests from staff and students with requests to speed up the renewal of the university. In such a situation, any attempts to slow down the modernization of KRSU and provoke a conflict will only mean a desire «to shake up» the situation, to prevent KRSU at any cost from becoming a strong, independent university attractive to young people.
As the rector said, the time has come for work, the time for intrigue is over. Despite many problems that have not been solved and have been accumulating for years, there is now a clear development plan and support from both Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
Denis Fomin-Nilov also made a number of important statements following the working meeting in Moscow: «This positive assessment, this support, this success is the result of the common work of all concerned employees of KRSU. We are committed to continuous growth and I am confident that with your support we will achieve our goals».
The university's immediate plans include: a partnership on the basis of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology with the leading Russian university in the engineering field – the famous St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. This year there will be the opening of joint research units, access to common scientific projects, modernization of educational programs, student exchange, etc. This will allow the faculty to take flagship positions not only within the university, but in the Central Asian region. Work is also underway to launch the Boiling Points project, aimed at developing the level of education and motivating students and teachers. Separate development plans are provided for international affairs KRSU (together with MGIMO University of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs), for the development of pedagogical directions, and so on.
Positive changes will only increase. The rector of KRSU continues working meetings and consultations in Moscow.
