The festival dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of F.M. has ended. Dostoevsky
On December 9, the results of essay and book trailer competitions were summed up, which completed the youth educational festival dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the classic of world literature F.M. Dostoevsky. The festival events, which took place from September 22 to November 20, 2021 online, were organized by the Russian Language Institute of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin.
Participants in the essay competition «I am opening Dostoevsky» were 11th grade students from schools with Kyrgyz and Russian languages of instruction. According to the terms of the competition, schoolchildren were asked to reveal in their creative work the aspects of F.M.’s work that interested them. Dostoevsky, show the relevance of the writer’s ideas, the significance of his moral philosophy. 14 high school students from schools in the cities sent their essays to the competition. Bishkek, Osha, Naryn, Mailuu-Suu, the village of Lebedinovka, Chui region and the village of Barskoon, Issyk-Kul region.
The children demonstrated a good level of training within the school curriculum in Russian literature. In addition to the writer’s programmatic works, the contestants also reflected on those works that they had become familiar with on their own. All participants, having performed a literary analysis, touched upon the philosophical and psychological facets of the writer’s work in their essays and tried to explain why Dostoevsky’s literary masterpieces are interesting to the modern reader. As the competition jury emphasized in its expert opinion, the polyphonism of thinking of young researchers allowed them to cover a wide range of topics and outline horizons for further creative searches.
Based on the results of the essay competition, the jury determined the winners:
1st place: Karimova Rosa (InShG № 4 named after. Yu.A. Gagarina, Mailuu-Suu);
2nd place: Omurbaeva Elgiza (SSG № 2 named after V.P. Chkalova, Naryn);
3rd place: Kozibaeva Aizhan (ShG № 3 im. M.V. Lomonosova, Osh).
A new format for holding events was a competition of book trailers – videos based on a literary work, a kind of annotation of a book in video format lasting up to three minutes. The author of the book trailer presents the viewer with the main idea of a literary work in a condensed form, usually using fragments from famous feature films or creating his own cinematic elements. According to the terms of the competition, the originality of the idea, the selection of interesting facts, and the expressive reading of Dostoevsky’s works were welcomed.
8 creative works took part in the competition, which were performed by students from secondary schools in the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Naryn, Kadamzhai, the villages of Barskoon and Chon-Karakol in the Issyk-Kul region. In their works, the competition participants presented novels by F.M. Dostoevsky «Crime and Punishment», «Idiot», «Demons», short story «Crocodile», etc. The jury noted that the modern genre of book trailer, which requires, along with knowledge of literary works, mastery of the skills of a personal computer user, is successfully mastered by schoolchildren.
The winners of the competition were:
1st place: Nurdinov Azatbek (SS № 16 «Madaniyat», with. Chon-Karakol, Osh region);
2nd place: Kamalbekova Saikal (ShG № 3 im. M.V. Lomonosova, Osh);
3rd place: Eldana Sultanova (Secondary School named after. K. Chylabaeva, p. Barskoon, Issyk-Kul region).
The completed youth festival showed that the work of the classic writer, who has remained one of the most widely read authors in the world for 200 years, is interesting to the younger generation of Kyrgyzstanis. Having tried their hand at various competitions, the guys made their creative contribution to the celebration of the significant anniversary, which is celebrated this year at the international level.

Dostoevsky, for his desire to expand his knowledge in the field of Russian literature.
