Green economy – living planet
On May 12, 2022, the Department «World Economy» of KRSU, together with the Investment Council under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, held an international scientific and practical conference on the problems of the green economy. Conference participants from Georgia, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of the UN and other international organizations, discussed measures that need to be taken to avoid the threat of self-destruction due to environmental problems and achieve sustainable development. The rector of KRSU, academician V. Nifadiev, and the representative of the UN Department of Global Communications, V. Sameka, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech.
The conference participants agreed that the current environmental situation in the world dictates the need to transition from a technogenic type of economic development to a new path focused on solving environmental problems with the active participation of government authorities, the scientific community, entrepreneurs, non-governmental and international organizations. Only together today can we respond to the challenges facing the world. This requires new green technologies, access to green finance, increased environmental protection, energy and resource conservation measures, a shift to alternative renewable energy sources, a new generation of «green» education and more.
Presentations at the conference were made by the head of the department for monitoring and analysis of reforms of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Temirkulov, professor of Moscow State University, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences V. Adrianov, leading financial expert of the UNDP initiative «Biodiversity Financing» T. Burzhubaev, head of the strategic planning department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan E. Ashyrov, business community experts, as well as teachers of KRSU.
A collection of abstracts of speeches and articles by its participants was presented at the conference.
Based on the results of the event, a resolution was developed that will be presented to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
