It is useless to fight foreign words in the Russian language
Doctors of Philology, professors Igor Sharonov and Natalya Bragina told how the Russian language is changing today and whether something needs to be done in this regard.
In the program «Theme of the day» on Sputnik Kyrgyzstan radio, Natalya Bragina noted that the position of a real linguist should be observant, not militant. According to her, it would be nice not to pass laws stipulating that people should not use borrowed words in speech, but to create conditions for the people themselves to use Russian analogues of borrowings.
Igor Sharonov added that borrowed modern words – part of youth slang, which was not previously in the public domain, but has now become so thanks to the Internet and the media.
