Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first president of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin – 25 years old.
The President of the Russian Federation, by his order dated June 29, 18 №174-rp, expressed gratitude to the staff of the interstate educational institution of higher professional education of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The university was awarded for its great contribution to the preservation and development of the Russian language and culture in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Central Asian region.
On September 14, a ceremonial meeting is planned in Bishkek in connection with the 25th anniversary of the KRSU.
A quarter of a century ago, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University was formed. It was opened in 1993 in accordance with the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation and the Agreement between the governments of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation on the conditions for the establishment and activities of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. KRSU is jointly administered by Kyrgyzstan and Russia. In 2004, by Presidential Decree, the university was named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin as a sign of special gratitude and respect for his enormous personal contribution to the creation of the university. For many years, the Presidential Center B.N. Yeltsin provides support to KRSU: every year the 50 best students receive personalized «Yeltsin scholarships», and the material and technical base of the university is improved.
According to the international university ranking (Webmetrics Ranking of World Universities), KRSU took first place among the 10 best universities in the Kyrgyz Republic. Today it is a modern, dynamically developing educational complex. It has over 9 thousand students who have chosen KRSU as a guarantor of obtaining a quality education and a successful career. Education at the university is carried out in 44 areas and specialties, there are 7 faculties, 92 departments, 6 research institutes, 15 research centers.
Events dedicated to the anniversary are now in full swing: exhibitions, sports tournaments, concerts, conferences. You can name, for example, a representative international forum «Understand Russia», scientific and practical conferences «Regional strategic development in the light of «Sustainable Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2018-2040» and «Reducing the risks of natural disasters», review festival of interfaculty student creativity «Starry hour». In September, a ceremonial meeting will be held in Bishkek in honor of the 25th anniversary of the KRSU.
