The Bold and the Fearless — about the Kyrgyz pilots who brought the Great Victory closer

During the Great Patriotic War, air aces were trained in the Kyrgyz SSR; in addition, many compatriots were gunners-radio operators and flight mechanics. On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, we tell unknown stories about pilots from Soviet Kyrgyzstan.

During the Second World War, Kyrgyzstan became a deep rear region, and the rhythm of life in the republic changed dramatically. Production capacity expanded, evacuated enterprises were quickly put into operation, internal reserves were mobilized, and garment factories switched to producing products for the front. Mechanical engineering, the coal industry, energy, non-ferrous metallurgy, some sectors of the light and food industries also began to develop, and silk for parachutes was produced.
