More than a year of distance learning could not but affect school students and university students. The results of the National Test showed that over three years the average score decreased by almost three units. There were also fewer people who were able to overcome the established threshold of 110 points. But universities do not lose optimism, although they admit that the level of education has decreased over the past year.
According to the former head of the department of international journalism at KRSU, consulting professor Alexander Katsev, due to distance learning, universities lost their first courses not this year, but the last academic year.
«Because of this form of education, students could not understand how school education differs from university education. And now they are discovering all this again. If we pull a second course to a fourth, it's a great victory», – he noted.
Alexander Katsev added that he cannot yet say whether this year’s freshmen are weaker than their predecessors.
