The round table participants noted that the media need to work more in the Kyrgyz-speaking segment in order to counter the influence of the West.
BISHKEK, July 12 – Sputnik. In the editorial office «Russian newspaper» a round table was held in Bishkek, where experts discussed the role of the media space in ensuring the information security of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Director of the MTRK branch «Peace» in Kyrgyzstan, Nurdin Urmambetov noted that to counter Western influence, constructive forces need to work in the Kyrgyz language.
«The ideas of integration and consolidation in the Eurasian space in Kyrgyzstan today need to be broadcast in the population’s native language, that is, Kyrgyz. Unfortunately, in this information field, in addition to local media, the majority of people work only in pro-Western publications», – urmambetov said.
Director of the international analytical club «Issyk-Kul – Greater Eurasia» (KRSU) Ainura Kocherbaeva clarified that integration processes require a deep analytical approach to develop solutions.
«We have many useful projects, including those to educate the younger generation of analysts. But, unfortunately, these ideas have not yet reached the general public due to insufficient media coverage. Therefore, I also support strengthening work in this direction, including in the Kyrgyz language», – kocherbaeva emphasized.
