How to prevent breast cancer – oncologist's advice
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Oncology and Radiation Therapy of KRSU, plastic surgeon Kyyal Makieva spoke about the signs of breast cancer and ways to prevent it.
In the program «Special emphasis» on Sputnik Kyrgyzstan radio, Makieva explained that breast cancer develops due to a hereditary predisposition or as a result of other diseases.
«Scientists cannot yet say for sure about the causes of breast cancer, but doctors identify about ten risk factors that can lead to the development of cancer. These include age 55 years and older, heredity, no children or late (after 35 years) first birth, early menstruation (before 12 years) and late menopause (after 55), as well as benign formations in the mammary gland. Up to 8 million women die every year from this type of cancer in the world», – the doctor said.
She emphasized that every woman should be attentive to her health.
