Brown snow in Bishkek. How did the experts explain it?
Brown precipitation in Bishkek is 90 percent due to the fact that soot and dust are washed out of the air with wet snow. Andrey Podrezov, head of the Department of Meteorology, Ecology and Environmental Protection of KRSU, reported this to 24.kg.
According to him, this is a rather rare natural phenomenon.
«Most likely, several factors coincided. Positive air temperatures in recent days, pollution, the presence of a significant amount of soot from coal in the first place. In addition, a dust storm was recently observed in the region. Most likely, we also had a significant content of dust in the air, which was brought by air masses» – noted by Andrey Podrezov.
