Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin became the first Slavic university in the CIS, following the example of which other such universities were created in Armenia, Belarus and Tajikistan. Acting on the model of classical universities, KRSU can boast of both technical developments and a significant role in preserving the Russian language in the republic.
