Kyrgyzstanis passed the tests of the Second World War with honor – professor at KRSU

For perseverance and heroism, 150 thousand soldiers from the Kyrgyz SSR were awarded orders and medals, Askar Dzhakishev recalled.

 

BISHKEK, April 28 Sputnik. Together with all the peoples of the USSR, Kyrgyzstanis withstood the most difficult tests with honor during the Great Patriotic War, said Askar Dzhakishev, a professor at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. He spoke as part of a video conference at the Sputnik Kyrgyzstan press center.

 

The professor recalled that the Kyrgyz SSR sent 363 thousand soldiers to the ranks of the Red Army, that is, every fourth capable resident of the republic. In the first year of the war, the legendary 316th Infantry Division under the command of Ivan Panfilov, the 385th Infantry Division, three rifle brigades, three cavalry divisions, and three night bomber aviation regiments were created.
