On the eve of 2022, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University made a New Year's gift to three schools in Kyrgyzstan, thereby summing up the results of its activities to strengthen the position of the Russian language.
On December 23, the university delegation presented the secondary school № 5 in the city of Kara-Balta with a set of stands for the Russian language and literature classroom, books, image products, and also awarded teachers and students who distinguished themselves in scientific and educational events implemented by KRSU in 2021. The ceremony was attended by Rector Vladimir Nifadiev, Vice-Rector Leonid Sumarokov, and Deputy Director of the Russian Language Institute Olga Sumarokova.
In the past year, on the topic of the Russian language, KRSU, represented by the Institute of Russian Language, held 20 events for secondary schools of the Kyrgyz Republic with Russian, Kyrgyz and Uzbek languages of instruction (advanced training courses, master classes, competitions, quizzes, olympiads and marathons).
Leonid Sumarokov, curator of Russian language programs at KRSU, noted: «The results of our activities showed – there are many friends of the Russian language in the republic. The university and the staff of the Russian Language Institute in 2021 proposed interesting forms of work that led to an understanding that Kyrgyzstanis consider Russian as the language of creation».
