The medical faculty of KRSU is preparing for the graduation of young doctors
Soon, in the large assembly hall of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, the next solemn Academic Council will be held, associated with the 23rd graduation of general practitioners, the 14th – pediatricians and dentists, the 21st – clinical residents of the Faculty of Medicine of the KRSU.
28 years ago, in the same hot summer, the 1st enrollment for the newborn medical department took place. There were only 32 of them, the first future general practitioners. And the entire faculty consisted of one department of medical-biological and medical-psychological disciplines, headed by the only full-time employee at that time – head. department and dean, Professor Anes Zarifyan.
Today, the medical faculty, in terms of its scale, can safely claim the status of a university, having 37 specialized departments and laboratories, 326 full-time employees (56% of whom are doctors and candidates of science), teaching not one, but three specialties (medical science, pediatrics, dentistry) over 2000 students, as well as actively training residents and graduate students.
Taking into account this year’s graduation, the faculty has already given Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and a number of other countries 2,483 general practitioners, 941 pediatricians and 1,817 dentists. Many of its graduates managed to successfully express themselves in medical pedagogy, science and practice both in the Kyrgyz Republic and far beyond its borders, including in foreign countries.
Recently, thanks to the Development Program of Slavic Universities, funded by Russia, the medical faculty has been successfully modernizing its educational base, opening new centers and laboratories, and purchasing modern medical equipment.
This year, despite all its difficulties, has pleased us with other successes. Educational programs have successfully passed national accreditation «Medical treatment» and «Paediatrics». Two employees received the academic title «professor». Many educational, methodological and major scientific works have been published, and a number of current scientific events have been held. The successes of the circle students are especially pleasing: at offline and online Olympiads, competitions, and conferences. They won one Grand Prix, 29 first places, 15 – second and 22 – third in team championships.
The current graduation, which includes 174 medical clinics, 73 pediatricians and 71 dentists, is worth kind words: 50 young doctors have earned Kyrgyz and Russian diplomas with honors.
This is a great merit not only of students, but also of their teachers and mentors, a number of whom were nominated for honorary badges «Excellent in education», «Excellent in healthcare», with certificates from the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Health, as well as the relevant trade unions of our country.
