On July 7, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University was visited by State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Andrey Loginov and Deputy Director of the Department of International Law and Cooperation of the department Dmitry Babekin. The guests were accompanied by the education attaché of the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, Robert Fedorov.

 

The meeting with the Russian guests was attended by acting Rector of KRSU German Lotsev, Vice-Rector for International Relations Leila Sydykova, Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations Leonid Sumarokov, Dean of the Faculty of Law Bermeta Tugelbaeva, Head of the Department of History Lyudmila Stavskaya.

 

And about. Rector German Lotsev told representatives of the Russian Ministry of Justice about the activities of the university, plans for preparation for the 30th anniversary of its creation, development prospects and innovations that await students in the 2023-2024 academic year.

 

In turn, the guests showed interest in the work of the Faculty of Law and made proposals for the development of its international contacts with Russian universities. Andrey Loginov drew attention to the importance of building horizontal connections between universities in Russia and Kyrgyzstan that train lawyers, and finding partners for this in the Russian education space, which will help improve the quality of legal education. In this regard, the Russian Ministry of Justice is ready to provide assistance to the KRSU. The Deputy Minister noted that expanding cooperation with Russian universities, along with social measures, such as solving the housing problem of students, introducing incentive payments for them for achievements in studies, scientific, and social activities, which the leadership of KRSU plans to implement in the near future, will become an important element in raising the image of the university.

 

Another important topic for discussion was the problem of historical education and the work on preserving historical memory carried out by the university. This direction in the activities of the KRSU and the experience it has accumulated interested Andrei Loginov, as chairman of the commission of the Russian Historical Society on higher historical education.
