Obituary about Vyacheslav Shapovalov – what the Kyrgyz authorities said
Shapovalov was the author of 12 poetry books, five monographs, and more than 30 books – translations of Kyrgyz poetry.
BISHKEK, July 26 – Sputnik. The presidential administration distributed an obituary on the occasion of the death of the People's Poet of the Kyrgyz Republic Vyacheslav Shapovalov.
Shapovalov died at the age of 75. He was an Honored Cultural Worker, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Translator, Literary scholar, Ethnoculturologist.
«The memory of Vyacheslav Ivanovich Shapovalov, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of Kyrgyz society, will forever remain in our hearts. We express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, sharing the pain and bitterness of irreparable loss», – the obituary says.
The obituary was signed by President Sadyr Zhaparov, the mayor of the residential complex Talant Mamytov, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, employees of the presidential administration, cultural figures and other persons.
