Students from Kyrgyzstan will be able to receive compensation for the cost of flights and a voluntary health insurance policy for studying in Russia. This became possible thanks to a program to expand international cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk) reported.

Currently, most foreign students come to Siberian Federal University from Central Asian countries, experts said. Adaptation of Kyrgyz students in Russia is easier due to the fact that Russian is the official language in the republic. Also, applicants from Kyrgyzstan can enroll in budget-funded places at Russian universities. It is also convenient to fly to Siberia: there are direct flights between Bishkek and Krasnoyarsk.

Partnerships are also developing between universities in countries. As part of the new SFU strategy, a series of events were held at Slavic universities in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan «Russian space: science and education». It included career guidance festivals, competitions, methodological seminars for teachers, and meetings with outstanding graduates of Russian universities.

In the Kyrgyz Republic, the project partner was the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. SFU specialists carried out a series of events aimed at improving the professional and methodological level of teaching staff and introducing modern educational and methodological cases into the educational process.

«I am deeply convinced that this will expand the dialogue between the two universities in the fields of education, science and culture, strengthen ties between the student community, which in turn will serve for the benefit of the development of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia», noted by the rector of KRSU, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Vladimir Nifadiev.
