New law on state language – time bomb for the Kyrgyz Republic
What is happening today with the language issue – consequences of the language policy that is being pursued in our country. Yes, we are a sovereign state, but language policy should not be carried out to the detriment of the citizens of the country. About this at the round table «The role of the Russian language in promoting integration educational processes in the CIS using the example of the Kyrgyz Republic» said expert, KRSU professor Mamed Tagaev.
«The Kyrgyz language is needed, no one is against it. But in order for a person to build a future, he needs not only his native language, but also others. And the new law on state language contains many repressed measures. And this is bad. It is impossible to promote language with such measures. Of course, it is necessary to develop the Kyrgyz language and strengthen the quality of education in Kyrgyz classes. However, pupils and citizens with multilingualism are more likely to get a good job. And this is a confirmed fact», – he emphasized.
According to the professor, what we are now adopting within the framework of the law on state language – time bomb for the future of Kyrgyzstan.
