According to the vice-rector of the KRSU Leonid Sumarokov, 20 deputies of the first convocation of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR, elected in 1938, fell in the battles of the Great Patriotic War.
BISHKEK, 2 Dec – Sputnik. Leonid Sumarokov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. Yeltsin, spoke about the dedication of the deputies of the first convocation of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.
He spoke at an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the heroism of 28 Panfilov soldiers near Moscow in 1941. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs named after K. Dikambaev.
