«There are at least 1.5 billion people in the world with chronic liver disease. About two million die from this cause every year. In Kyrgyzstan, the situation is, to put it mildly, also alarming. The number of patients who have already been diagnosed with one or another liver pathology is growing. Which already speaks to the relevance of this topic. Many have not even been diagnosed with these diseases yet. No studies have been conducted on the number of patients with chronic liver diseases in our country. And this year our clinic decided to study the situation. The present conference is, one might say, one of the first steps towards such a study», – said vb.kg first Deputy General Director of LLC «JURFA» Erkin Kimsanov.
«Due to the fact that attention is not focused on liver diseases, it may seem that they do not pose a threat to the health and even life of our citizens. But liver pathologies are no less serious and dangerous than cardiovascular diseases. And, unfortunately, in our country the number of patients already in need of a liver transplant is increasing», – noted in an interview with vb.kg Nurgul Toktogulova, head of the department of therapy №1 KRSU, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor.
According to her, the purpose of this conference – draw the attention of doctors to this problem, improve their awareness of the early diagnosis and treatment of this pathology. The conference was attended by family doctors, general practitioners, gastroenterologists, hepatologists, and endocrinologists. Judging by the number of invitees, the medical community of our country is of great interest in the problem. As specialists, they understand that it must be resolved immediately. Therefore, we fully support the clinic’s initiative to attract the attention of the medical community to study the current situation with liver pathologies in our country.
