The professor spoke about the preservation and promotion of the Russian language in Kyrgyzstan
The KRSU hosts an international scientific forum of the Russian language, in which about 500 people from more than 10 countries take part. The event takes place online and offline.
BISHKEK, November 15 – Sputnik. Professor, director of the Russian Language Institute of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. Yeltsin Mamed Tagaev spoke about the preservation and promotion of the Russian language in Kyrgyzstan.
He spoke on opening of the international forum for the professional community of teachers teaching Russian abroad «Russian language and science of the 21st century: problems, achievements, prospects». The event was organized by the Russian State Humanitarian University and KRSU with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
«The issue of preserving and promoting the Russian language in Central Asia, in particular in Kyrgyzstan, is tied to the problems of education and scientific problems. We conducted research on the topic of the Russian language. If 18 percent of preschoolers own it, then when they enter school and universities, this level rises to 60 percent. Russian language for Kyrgyzstan – this is the lingua franca. This is a language that allows the younger generation to accumulate and improve human capital and their professional knowledge», – the professor said.
