The contribution of Panfilov’s division in the battle for Moscow was discussed at the diplomatic academy of the Kyrgyz Republic
An international scientific and practical conference was held at the Diplomatic Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic, dedicated to the theme of the heroism of Panfilov’s men in the battle for Moscow.
As the moderator of the meeting, Ainur Zhorobekova, explained «the purpose of the conference is not only to turn to the historical facts of the events of the Great Patriotic War, but also to find new facets for studying the issue of memory of the soldiers who fought against fascism».
That is why the organizers: the Diplomatic Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited both diplomats of the Russian Embassy and scientists, researchers, bloggers, search engines, and military personnel to the conversation.
The head of the Council of Deputies of the Volokolamsk District, Sergei Shornikov, said online that he had the honor of being born on Volokolamsk land in the village of Ostashevo, where everyone knows about the feat of the 9th company of the 1073rd rifle regiment of the 316th rifle division (later Panfilov), whose soldiers were sent to help the unit Captain Lysenko was attacked by the Nazis and fought for three days from October 19 to 21, 1941, holding their own sector. And most of the 9th company was drafted from the Kyrgyz SSR.
He also confirmed that district deputies welcomed the initiative to create a monument at the site of the battle, which was voiced by the search movement of Kyrgyzstan «Our Victory is the Bizdin Zhenish» two years ago. And they allocated land, and now it is important to find finances for the implementation of the project, which was also prepared by the search engines of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the Faculty of Architecture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Vice-Rector for Information and Public Relations of the KRSU Leonid Sumorokov recalled that among the commanders of the Red Army, deputies of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR fought courageously.
