Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the KRSU Elena Radchenko told what happens to a person who gets tetanus and how you can avoid infection with this terrible disease.

 

A five-year-old child died of tetanus in Bishkek. It turned out that the boy's parents did not give the child the necessary vaccinations.

 

In a conversation on Sputnik radio Kyrgyzstan E. Radchenko said that tetanus bacteria can remain in the soil for centuries and develop only after entering the human body. There are especially many of them where there are livestock: in horses and rams, the bacterium is a normal microflora of the gastrointestinal tract. To become infected, a child only needs to fall and rip off his knee or run into a nail lying on the ground.
