Kyrgyzstan is experiencing a severe third wave of new coronavirus infection. The number of new cases reported each day ranges from one thousand to one and a half thousand. And authoritative epidemiologists predict that this is not the limit. Two waves with peak incidence were observed during 2020. The first – in July, when up to 1,600 cases were registered per day. The second is weaker – from October to November.
In many countries around the world, including Kyrgyzstan, vaccination against coronavirus continues. But so far about two percent of the population has been vaccinated. To achieve herd immunity, it is necessary that about 60-70% of the population be vaccinated. There are problems associated with organizing an uninterrupted supply of vaccines. But people are mainly concerned about the possible side effects from them, rumors about which are multiplying with enviable speed.
