From «Greater Altai» – to «Greater Eurasia»
The second international altaic forum has ended at Altai State University. From September 30 to October 3, the II International Altaic Forum «The Turkic-Mongolian world of Greater Altai: historical and cultural heritage and modernity» was held in Barnaul and Gorno-Altaisk on the basis of two state universities. Organized by the Scientific and Educational Center for Altaic and Turkic Studies «Greater Altai», created for the purpose of implementing the project «The Turkic-Mongolian world of Greater Altai: unity and diversity in history and modernity» commissioned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
The largest international scientific event brought together almost 300 scientists from 9 countries – Russia, Hungary, Mongolia, Finland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan on two platforms in real and online mode. The successful holding of the forum showed that, despite closed borders and long traditions of studying Turkic studies and Altaic studies in other countries, Altai confirmed its right to be considered a center of attraction for researchers of Turkic history and culture.
The delegation from Kyrgyzstan at the II International Altaic Forum «Turkic-Mongolian World of Greater Altai: Historical and Cultural Heritage and Modernity» included the rector of KNU named after. Bikbulatova, Director of the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnology named after. B. Dzhamgerchinova (at the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic), academician A. Asankanov, head of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations of KRSU named after. B. Yeltsin, Professor G. Dzhunushalieva.
