The famous scientist made a huge contribution to the development and study of the Kyrgyz language, and also combined versions of the epic «Manas» for the publication of the full trilogy.
The head of the Department of Kyrgyz Language of KRSU, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Candidate of Philological Sciences Kutmanbek Biyaliev spoke about Yunusaliev’s contribution to the development of the Kyrgyz language and literature.
«He was an outstanding linguist and did a lot for the development of Kyrgyz linguistics. His main works concern the lexicology of the Kyrgyz language. Yunusaliev was also a great specialist in the field of dialectology. He expressed progressive ideas about the formation of the Kyrgyz literary language based on the mixing of dialects. In addition, he was an outstanding folklorist, collected material from the trilogy of the epic "Manas", and combined versions of storytellers Sagymbay Orozbakov and Sayakbay Karalaev. In 1958, the epic was published, and Yunusaliev wrote a preface to it», – recalled Biyaliev.
