Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin is preparing to celebrate his 30th birthday. The university associates its achievements with support from Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov and its rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Sadovnichy.

In September 1998, Kyrgyzstan solemnly celebrated the fifth anniversary of the creation of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. In those days, a lot was said about the importance of creating an interstate educational institution, and the names of those who stood at the origins of its formation and development were also named. The merits of the rector of Moscow State University named after M.V. were especially noted. Lomonosov Viktor Antonovich Sadovnichy. The awarding of the title of honorary doctor of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University became a sign of recognition of the contribution of the head of Moscow State University to the process of formation of the university in the two states.

On September 9, 1993, an Agreement on the conditions for the establishment and activities of the KRSU was signed between the governments of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The task assigned to the new educational institution of higher professional education turned out to be very responsible: to organize educational, scientific, educational activities under the state flags of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic. In the post-Soviet period, the university became a pioneer in preserving and strengthening the position of the Russian educational system and the Russian language in Central Asia, serving as an example for the creation of Slavic universities in Tajikistan, Armenia and Belarus.

In turn, for KRSU, MSU has become a beacon in the implementation of the plans of fraternal states, which has shown its outstanding role in the development of world education, science and culture for centuries. More than 20 of its graduates became the driving force that allowed the Kyrgyz-Russian university to successfully move forward.

KRSU implements educational programs of higher education, programs of secondary vocational education, basic and additional general education programs of the Russian Federation in parallel with the educational programs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The university provides training in 39 areas of bachelor's degree, 8 areas of master's degree, 6 specialties. It has more than 7 thousand students, 7 faculties, 92 departments, a college and a secondary school – the only educational institution in Kyrgyzstan where the Unified State Exam is taken. The educational process is provided by more than one thousand people from among the teaching staff, of which 70% have an academic degree of candidate or doctor of science.

The university conducts applied scientific research aimed at practical solutions to technical and social problems of society. At the same time, he proposes specific programs aimed at integration into a single educational space of the EAEU countries and focused on solving socially significant problems of the region. Among the main points of concentration of efforts, the university highlights: the Russian language in Central Asia; sustainable economic development; small energy and hydropower; modern technologies in education and science; mountain habitat and human life in it; protection of the gene pool, reproduction and human health; regional climate and water use; intercultural and interreligious dialogue.

The results of the practical activities of KRSU prove that the interstate scientific and educational project laid down in 1993 took place. Over 29 years of activity, the number of KRSU graduates amounted to more than 30 thousand people. University students work in medicine, mining and mechanical engineering, defend the law, protect people's rights, manage interstate relations, and contribute to science and culture.

At the mining enterprises of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, the Blast Maker software and hardware complex created by university scientists, which is a system for automatic design of drilling and blasting operations in quarries, operates effectively. In Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkey, a university project in the field of hydraulic pulse energy has been introduced, related to the technical re-equipment of water use facilities. Another achievement – introduction of a set of methods for instrumental monitoring of the stability of hydroelectric dams under seismic influences.

The dominant problem in the activities of the KRSU is the preservation of spiritual unity in the Eurasian space as the basis of all integration processes. Its implementation is carried out thanks to increased efforts to preserve the position of the Russian language, the historical memory of Russia’s creative activities in Central Asia, and the common victory over fascism. University scientists present an objective view of many historical events to the scientific community and the public of the region.

In achieving high results in its activities, the university notes the role of Moscow State University and personally its rector Viktor Sadovnichy. On March 27, 2019, two rectors – V.A. Sadovnichy and V.I. Nifadiev signed a Cooperation Agreement. The document, which provides for the development of interaction in the educational and scientific spheres, stipulates an important point: cooperation between universities «is becoming an increasingly important element in the development and strengthening of relations between the two countries» – between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

In this regard, KRSU and Moscow State University do not act in words. Suffice it to say that only at the Department of Philosophy of the KRSU there were and are six people who received diplomas and certificates of various denominations within the walls of Moscow State University, who made a significant contribution to the formation of the intellectual elite of Kyrgyzstan. Scientists from two universities are focusing on the development of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic. There is hope that the general ideas and proposals of university economists included in the joint economic project will serve for the benefit of the people of Kyrgyzstan and will become a good gift for the 30th anniversary of Viktor Sadovnichy’s activities as rector of Moscow State University and for the 30th anniversary of the creation of KRSU.

The University of Kyrgyzstan and Russia wishes the outstanding leader Viktor Antonovich Sadovnichy new creative plans and new victories.
