Professor Pankov: Cats think logically, and compassion is not alien to them
Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Pavel Pankov told VB.KG about «a real interesting discovery», made jointly with his student Amina Volkova, a 3rd year student at the Faculty of Economics of the B. Yeltsin KRSU at the Department of Mathematical Methods in Economics.
Amina Volkova explained to VB.KG that Professor Pankov is teaching their student group a logic course. He set the task: how to prove that a certain animal thinks logically? After discussion in the group, it was decided to hold «experience for mutual assistance».
Volkova Googled it and found out that there were numerous cases when cats brought various things to people and food at will – other cats, but have not yet undergone scientific experiments on this topic.
But the experience carried out by Volkova under the leadership of Pankov showed the logic of representatives of the cat family, namely the domestic tricolor cat Plyushka and also the domestic cat Robert, all black.
