Art critic and teacher of KRSU Aina Moldokhmatova shared her opinion on the sculptural objects of Bishkek with the editors of Kaktus.media.
– The former Frunze – Bishkek, compact and green, encouraged movement with a walking step: we cheerfully walked along the sidewalks in any direction, sheltered from the scorching sun by the crowns of tall trees, under the murmur of irrigation water. Along the way, there were fleeting meetings with a wide range of acquaintances: when they bowed, they spoke about something fluently – now I remember only the warmth of living, relaxed contacts. We were united by the atmosphere of the city, with which everyone had their own emotional connections. The surrounding space was perceived as friendly, proportionate to the person.
The capital has now become different, and we are learning to see in it new beauty, different rhythms and scales...
It would be good only in the process of transformation not to rashly lose some important qualities of the urban environment and the substantive and aesthetic values embodied in it, which did not immediately arise on their own.
